The Marsback Zephyr Pro is going to be a difficult device to score. On the one hand, it's an attractive and customizable mouse that works as well as I could have hoped that a mouse would do it. On the other hand, the main argument of the unit - a fan illuminated by RGB which sends a breath of fresh air to your disgusting and wet palm - left almost trop be desired.
When I say that the traditional functions of Zephyr Pro work extremely well, I really think so. The base slips effortlessly on a mouse pad and the shape perfectly marries the contours of my hand. Each click is reactive, regardless of one of the six buttons. And the RGB effects bring out my office even more. Everything is fine and dandy. In fact, compared to any other mouse in the price range of $ 59.00 from Zephyr Pro, you would have trouble finding one that works as perfectly as Marsback.
But we did not come for the crackling - we came for the steak. And the meat of Zephyr Pro should have been its fan illuminated by RGB. And so it hurts me to say that I do not think I have ever seen a gadget as unnecessary for my life. I may be more inclined to appreciate his goal if it worked as announced, even if the fact is that I can hardly feel the air blowing on my palm at its highest speed.
In addition, Marsback advertises for the mouse as being almost without vibration and silent. I may have a different understanding of the meaning of these words, but not only the device makes a lot of noise, but I can not tell you how many times in the last two weeks I thought my phone vibrated only to find the culprit was Zephyr Pro.
On the technical side, the Pixart 3389 sensor is capable of 400 IPS on the range of 100 to 16,000 dpi for precise movements and constant performance. High quality Omron switches have a lot to do with the superb Zephyr Pro Click feature mentioned above, offering up to 50 million clicks before the end of its life cycle. And with a maximum acceleration of 50 g and an interrogation rate of 1000 Hz, it is really a mouse that even the professionals would like, making the nickname "pro".
To adjust all these settings, you will need the Marsback Zephyr Pro software. This powerful hub is a tool used to fully customize each aspect of your new mouse. Here you can tinker, from your DPI settings, your macros, your remappvmissions and everything else. As peripheral technology progressed, you must understand that so much care and attention are made to the software as the devices themselves.
In addition, for someone like me who tends to score any RGB, the Zephyr Pro software is a dream come true. You will be able to assign different profiles to the mouse, each of them being able to use any number of available parameters. Options such as color time, neon levels, the intensity of pulsations and much more will each offer one personalization in mind with everything it needs.
I appreciated my time with the Marsback Zephyr Pro, and I will continue to do it. Of course, I was delighted to receive the device, and maybe even more disappointed when I discovered how insufficient fan performance. Rumors circulate that MarsBack is ready to release a version with a higher RPM than is currently on the market (which would be an extremely welcome addition), but it remains to be seen. Until then, I guess we will have to continue to suffer from palms resembling marshes.
